TRUTH in Politics is a grassroots, non-partisan effort to eliminate false, inaccurate,misleading or partial truth campaining and/or minimize or eliminate negative campaign advertising about opponents. We're not trying to eliminate truthful negative comments about issues, just negative campaigning about opponents. It can be viewed as the most important component in running a "clean campaign". TiPs will  provide a free screening  of political ads submitted voluntarily by political candidates. Once screened, the ads will be certified, or qualified, to use the TRUTH in Politics logo seal in ad content. A candidate certified by TiPs will then be recognized among voters as a candidate that adheres to a positive standard of ethics in Truthful campaigning, in other words, all campaign claims are verifiable and any negative comments will be directed towards issues and not towards opponents.

TRUTH in Politics certification is free. TiPs will not endorse or recommend any candidate, political party, platform, or referendum, but will only certify that the ad content truthful and is not negative towards any other candidate in any context. TiPs will not provide suggestions, guidance or anything in reference to content with the exception of the TiPs guidelines.  TiPs is a state registered non-partisan Political Action Committee (PAC).

TRUTH in Politics is serious about eliminating negative, dirty campaign tricks and fighting. Campaigning is hard enough to do without having to defend yourself. Yes, we know the campaign "experts" tell us that negative campaigning in the end of a campaign can get a few more votes. But just remember, the negative campaigning can go both ways! What voters really want to know is what YOU will do for them, not what you want them to believe someone has done or not done.

Being negative against an opponent means, negative words,  slogans, tactics, or strategies in print media, TV, radio and telephone campaigns. Good, healthy, engaging public debate forums allows you you to go "head-to-head" verbally without disparagingly damaging your opponents reputation.

TRUTH in Politics will campaign the truthful and the positive. When voting public sees our certification logo, they are seeing a candidate whose claims can be verified and has agreed not to campaign negatively against an opponent. Believe us, we will suggest having a healthy skepticism about or just throwing away any ad, campaign literature, or changing the TV channel, when you see any ad that does not have the TRUTH in Politics logo seal.
